Quote:
Fort Lauderdale’s Development Review Committee will consider plans for Las Olas Condominiums, a 45-story mixed-use building proposed for 521 East Las Olas Boulevard in the Downtown corridor, adjacent to Southeast 6th Street and the South Federal Highway tunnel. Designed by Pininfarina with Cohen Freedman Encinosa & Associates Architects and developed by Miami’s condo king, the Related Group, the 531-foot-tall structure will contain 192 multifamily residential dwelling units, a 3,684-square-foot restaurant on the ground floor, and 364 parking spaces in a structured parking garage. Architectural Alliance Landscape is the landscape architect, and Botek Thurlow Engineering Inc. is the civil engineer for the project, which is expected to yield 352,551 square feet of residential space with an average of 1,836 square feet per unit.

Below are all of the official renderings from the DRC filing, depicting the development from a multitude of perspectives to provide context and detailed views of the materials and unique architectural elements.

The New Andare Residences by Pininfarina Bring Italian Glamor to South Florida

Quote:
The legendary Italian design house Pininfarina is perhaps best known for its affiliation with Ferrari. The car design firm and coachbuilder, founded in May 1930, worked with Ferrari from the 1950s through the 21st century and is now well-known for its projects beyond car design, including architectural and engineering pursuits.

Pininfarina’s latest endeavor, Andare Residences by Pininfarina, will delight both car and architecture enthusiasts. The 45-story tower on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was developed by Related Group and will soon launch sales for its 163 bespoke residences. Not only is it the first luxury condo developed on Las Olas Boulevard in 20 years, but it also marks Pininfarina’s first project in Broward County.

Pininfarina worked closely with CFE Architects to craft the 540-foot tower, which has a distinctive wave-like appearance with wraparound balconies that mimic the flow of water. You enter the building through a striking double-height lobby, which is encased in floor-to-ceiling windows. There are large walls for the museum-quality art and biophilic elements—a theme throughout the building’s common areas and amenity spaces.

Andare Residences are located two miles from the beach, so residents have access to the cosmopolitan lifestyle of Fort Lauderdale with close proximity to outdoor pursuits.

“Andare’s location at the foot of the Fort Lauderdale Riverwalk expansion enables it to forge a seamless connection between Tunnel Top Park and the pedestrian walkway that encircles the building,” says Nick Pérez, president of Related’s Condominium Division. “The very essence of ‘Las Olas’, translated as ‘the waves’, served as a muse for the property. This inspiration is elegantly embodied in the fluid lines of the building’s rounded balconies, which mimic the gentle rocking of waves and pay homage to the maritime heritage deeply rooted in the neighborhood.”

“Pininfarina’s design elements in living spaces align with its ethos by emphasizing timeless aesthetics, high-quality materials, and innovative furnishings,” Samuele Sordi, chief architect at Pininfarina, tells Robb Report. “We prioritize ergonomics and well-being to create comfortable and functional living environments that enhance residents’ quality of life. We provide a luxurious and holistic living experience reminiscent of high-end hospitality and offer residents a one-of-a-kind elevated lifestyle. The integration of technology, spatial harmony, customization, incorporation of art, and environmental considerations further reflect the essence of Pininfarina’s design philosophy.”

Would you be considered “Bridge & Tunnel” (Manhattan slur for the other boroughs) if you live above a tunnel?

Hopefully the construction site doesn't cause additional tunnel closures. It's been a traffic nightmare at that spot since the tunnel top park extension started construction.

Pile work to be start next month on Fort Lauderdale's new tallest and Related Group's group first downtown Fort Lauderdale tower!

"But it will be the first condo Related has built in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

“Breaking ground on Andare is an important milestone for both Related and Fort Lauderdale,” Pérez said. “We’ve spent years getting to know this market and contributing to its transformation, but it’s been 20 years since a property of this caliber has risen above Las Olas. With Andare, we’re proud to be writing downtown’s next chapter, offering an elevated living experience in the heart of the city.”

Once built, Andrare will be the tallest building downtown. For now, that distinction is held by 100 Las Olas, a 45-story luxury condo tower that’s 499 feet tall.

“The pile rig will be here June 1,” Pérez said. “The tower crane will go up at the end of summer.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ta...roposed,_approved,_or_under_construction

According to Wikipedia, there’s up to 11 buildings proposed that are over 500+ ft tall! Hopefully, all or most of these buildings gets erected ASAP, since Ft Lauderdale needs to have a significant skyline to differentiate itself from Miami. And Ft Lauderdale needs a lot more affordable housing units, as well as a major mass transit system that’s either above or below (preferred) grade, in order to turn Ft Lauderdale into somewhat world class.
