It always amazes me how shit my luck is for posting pics of mine on here. Thanks for the comments from those who were more concerned with seeing my pics twice instead of actually commenting on the pics themselves!

The concerns over the repost may be an indication that it is too large a photo block to start

Appreciate the New Westminster / North Vancouver coverage and the angles. The Pier turned out well in these.

29 photos with that variety of locations isn't much though.

I'm not sure if there are any active mods here but they could have simply deleted the photos in the reply, not Metro One's fault.

And the irony of the double post about double posts, lol. Anyways, backs to one of my comments - Metro One, do you find the white panels on The Butterfly are dirty?

They're dirty because the building is still under construction and haven't been washed yet.

The panels are dirty now, but as mentioned above it's still U/C, so after it gets a good scrub down we will see how it looks as a finished product.

The waterfronts are major assets in each of those communities in helping transform them above the standard suburb. The both have notable history as well, which also helps obviously.

The drone video footage, seems like a model, not even a real video.

That Toronto video is dizzying to say the least. If I end up in a nursing home in my 80’s I’d be happy in a small seaside city looking out at the ocean or on the 40th floor in downtown Toronto with floor to ceiling windows. Just need to make sure my bed and wheelchair can be positioned right by the window. Next problem is finding a high rise nursing home, lol.

As for the Butterfly panels (don’t worry, last time I’ll mention this until about 3 years from now) I’ve never seen a building where they put up dirty panels like this. Normally they come shrink wrapped if a metallic panel, but I know these are unique and not likely to come to the site that way. Yet while I was watching construction in May and later again in July these were coming off the truck dirty. I’m not sure the material will be an easy clean either like the end of construction window washing. Can’t even imagine the time/cost to power wash a 57 storey building. Here’s a pic of mine from May, and the dirty panels are not just near ground level.

Thin wall precast panels are common cladding material in Canada. These could also be painted instead of just power washed.

Vancouver is a drizzly place. Bare precast will not only discolour/ develop green mold over time but, it doesn't look particularly great with wet spots

I was going to say almost the same thing but I actually like how the climate in Vancouver lends itself to moss growing on concrete. If it ages evenly it could look cool and organic as it weathers.

As fort the dirt and damage that will all be fixed before they finish this tower. It's turning out amazing.

LeBreton Flats and the Escarpment District. Buildings in the foreground is part of Claridge's LeBreton development that's been going on for the last 20 years. The one u/c is about 5 floors from topping out.

https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=226521&page=21

Centre, right will be the Dream LeBreton towers, 31 and 36 floors.

https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=238059&page=15

In the centre is the new Central Library.

https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170266&page=71

Tower crane upper left corner is 400 Albert, 23 and 29 floors, and Renaissance Marriott at 35 floors (similar design, different developer) is being excavated.

https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=218147&page=30

All these projects should be complete within 5 years and have the greatest impact on the traditional skyline since Place de Ville C and the Marriott (with the circular revolving banquet hall) were built in the early 70s (both out of frame to the left).

Shot from the lake near Cherry Beach, some Southcore evening magic captured by the (brilliant) long lens of Phil Marion.

Posted by UT forum member Johnny Au. Super-tall SkyTower will rise left of centre one day.

In the Toronto pic the clouds in the background look like a distant mountain range.

Beautiful tower in Montreal, built in the 1930’s, more info here: https://www.parcjeandrapeau.com/en/tour-de-levis/
