Hey it’s not Winnipeg but check out this development going up in Hamilton, it looks exactly like a Ray Wan supermutant!

I'd be ok with 741 residential units and 297 square metres of commercial space between the two 30 and 39-storey towers above a three-to-four-storey podium downtown.Bring it on.
We have dozens of empty parking lots & not enough housing.

Agreed, I would love to see a proposal like this in Winnipeg. Pretty sure City Council would approve it too.

Looks like we need one haha!

I'm loving all these mall infill projects. Great use of overkill parking lots in desirable locations.

Seeing mall redevelopments is great. The Northgate Mall redevelopment was already approved by City Council and there's that big proposal for Polo Park Mall. Let's hope we see some proposals for Kildonan Place Mall and St. Vital Mall in the near future.

I always imagine Southdale Square on Fermor being able to accommodate an apartment building or two as well. With the empty Perkins and Pizza Hut structures sitting for so long, it'd be nice to see some re-imagining going on there.

100% agree! lots unused parking lots facing Fermor that would be perfect for that.

I haven't done one of these in a while. Since it is kind of quiet for development lately, I thought this might spark up some conversation. Yellow is surface lot, green is U/C or in planning.

I hope the two big lots on Graham Ave are among the first to go. Especially with the city considering pedestrianizing Graham.

And that whatever that is has some street facing retail/bars/restaurants. Building a tiny version of Atlanta's Beltline would be my dream for there.

dream all you want about filling parking lots, but if you were to search on realtors.ca, you'll notice 20+ building for sale. I think priority would be to get businesses or those converted to residential before building more. (insert sad, but realistic face here)

I would put that monstrosity of a parkake at the Bay building as being in need of redevelopment. That thing is worse than 10 surface lots, a giant middle finger to good planning, the antichrist of urbanism.
