Looks like they've decide to stop work on the south tower and focus solely on the north one.

Kind neat, because the three towers are going up in order of height from shortest to tallest.

This was correct for a while but a new slab was just poured this past week. Seems tower 2 is game on again. Third tower on the other hand seems to have come to full stop after excavation.

On the south tower, the bottom floor is glassed in on one side. Other materials starting to go in above too.

No green glass!!!

The fact that some developers still use that crap is an abomination.

Tower A was given priority for almost two months as that is why tower B was at a standstill but it is indeed back in full swing as of a week and a half ago. Tower C (395 Slater), which obviously is not part of this project anymore, will be ramping back up in November of this year.

Glass on the ground floor is very nice. Glass above that so far looks very Claridge Moon-ish.

I dont mind the glass above the ground floor at all i'm actually quite encouraged that this wont be a total disaster looking at this picture.

The white spandrel actually looks white, which is not a given in this city! The dark glass and mullions mixed with the white will look really slick IMO. Glass looks high quality.

I'm hoping for materials that somewhat resemble UpperWest:

Remember, Mondrian was originally supposed to have "white" glass around the parking podium

What they proposed:

What we got:

UpperWest quality would be fantastic.

Mondrian's final design differs from the renderings, but it's not bad at all. Far better quality than most modern Ottawa apartment and condo buildings.

I like the fully louvred upper spandrel panel, rather than a random smattering of crappy kitchen/bathroom vents. I assume the back pan/insulation of the spandrel can be customized for ventilation penetrations where required, and the rest are false louvres.

This project, including the big Marriot, will truly be Ottawa's skyline signature for a while. An 'Icon', if you will.

It's so ICONIC that it deserved a better location. I want this a Lebreton flat and Zibi.

Now where have I heard that name before?

Should be pretty iconic in the current location if it sticks out from the table top as much as Harley's images show. One last chance at a modern icon in the traditional skyline. Let's just hope Rimap sticks with the same high quality as M+M.

Based on Dream LeBreton and the musings about the arena district (Andlauer talking to Roger Greenberg of Minto), we may get a worthy district of high quality architecture to the west of that traditional Downtown.
