On hold construction projects, have seen a few smaller ones go idle - no trades/tools/activity on site. 12 unit townhome/condo project at the bottom of Edmonton Trail and a small multi-unit project on 15th Avenue NE just east of Edmonton Trail. Not sure why - maybe smaller builders that ran out of money?

Just so happened to get an unexpected surprise mini-tour of The Bridge in Bridgeland today and I must say that that building's suites are several levels of luxiouriousness below what can be had kitty corner at Bucci Dominion where I happen to be working at.

To be honest, one should not even compare suites between these two buildings - I honestly was expecting more of The Bridge considering all of the nearby competition. Hopefully the price points there realistically reflect the lesser value it offers.

Dominion, Bucci is already leasing out suites in the second building even though it's months away from being completed. First building is already over 80% leased out.

MT-Arch Bridgeland condos project dead, multiple leins against property - gonna be interesting to see how long this one sits with units open and exposed to the elements. Project link

Also, Bucci looking at a variety of land parcels within the city.

Anyone have info renderings or even opinions of the proposed Stephen Avenue Quarter project? Just shy of a supertall tower amongst others on one of the most downtrodden blocks in downtown.

Boatloads of opinions (mostly negative) and some images at SRC.

Bucci Dominion phase 2 has now got tenants regularly moving in plus almost all of the CRUs are leased.

On a side note, the Bridgeland Riverside Continuing Care site has gone into a complete shut down for at least a week now, no signs of activity at all on the site and all gates are locked.

Edit, talk of some major geotechnical issues which have resulted in fractures in the structure that has aleady been built.

Bridgeland Riverside Continuing Care site has been shut down for about 4 weeks now, no one on the site except management. 60+ people out of work.

Bridgeland Riverside Continuing Care site still shut down - 9 weeks and counting. Structural and or geotechnical issues apparently - most likely an expensive fix.

I visit the other forum a fair bit, and it's the complete opposite of dead, it's so busy I can't keep up with all of the activity. Conversely, I come to this forum every 6 months, and nothing's changed, a lone post from Speeddog every three months aimed at the approximately 2 people who frequent this forum.

For construction or development stuff I go to SRC, it's where all the activity is. Construction-wise this site has completely flat-lined, and anyone coming here for construction related info either doesn't know about the other site or they're stupid, and in some kind of denial. Even the airport thread which has good info, (thanks to 2 or 3 people in the know) is getting bad. Lately it's a lot of Edmontonian's in denial that their airport is stagnate and whining every time YYC gets good news lol.

I still come here for the airport thread, and once in a while I'll go to the Canada section, but tbh, the core group of people who post in that section are douchebags, and if there's one thing I've learned - life's too short to be around haters.

I’m not sure which forum you’re referring to, but Skyrisecities is always busy. This thread, which covers all construction and development activity in Calgary, averages 1 post every 6 months and at SRC there are easily 100 posts a day.

The airport thread is still alive here, though the one at SRC has been getting busier these days. It’s the only reason I come to this site, as this thread is toast and the Canada section has been reduced to a handful of losers who love to hear themselves talk.

Dude, in case you hadn't noticed your quote from 2.5 years ago, is literally three posts above your post. Nobody has to search very hard to find it, and at a rate of one post per 6 months on this thread, you only need to go back one page to find your original post. lol.

It's not ever going to happen and it's just as well. The forum atmosphere is much better in my opinion (ie. no douchebags from certain provinces east of Ontario), and it's also where all of the info is located. There's no reason to come here except for the airport thread.

That's a shame because I really enjoy seeing how Calgary is progressing and I know many on SSP feel the same. Would love to see updates and new pics of your wonderful city.
