The local NIMBYS in Komoka are against proposal for the old driving range site on Gideon Drive.

The growth in Komoka and Kilworth is only going to accelerate with thousands of new residents being added in the coming years.

Damn, I only saw Dr Chant a few weeks ago for a knee injection. Wish I had seen him after this news came out, I'd love to hear more. Wonder if he is planning to move his practice away from Strathroy hospital to this new location.

Updates from the OLT Case Mgt Meeting on the various appeals of the London Plan from various proposals around the city. A number of the appeals have been dropped and others are requesting more time to try to resolve which means another CMM meeting in Feb 2024.



They need to make major changes to the OLT processes governing appeals because the current system is broken. Why in the world do they have another 6 month wait for another CMM meeting?


This is like a never ending trip to the dentist chair of delay after delay.

About 2/3rds complete now with the exterior brick and stonework on the new Chick-Fil-A restaurant on Wonderland Rd S. The concrete foundation footings have been poured for weeks now on the next retail building just further north but not much has happened with the utility rough in as of yet or any structural steel. The next building at the SW corner of Bradley and Wonderland now has the exterior walls and insulation board installed. Suspect the masonry contractor will move to this building when complete at the Chick-fil-A.

Nice, work close by so been watching this project for quite some time. As for the former Holy Cross, it's a shame they didn't spare the building. It was very sound and would be perfect for a retrofit into an apartment building.

Not 100% relevant to this site, but I know a lot of people on here are very much in the know of the City's infrastructure projects, so I figured I would ask.

What has the City been doing with the water reservoir/Reservoir park the last year or so?

Access was closed for several months in the winter, and even though no longer closed off, they have been doing work on the other side of commissioners.

Wrapping up the exterior brick on the Chick-Fil-A on Wonderland Rd S. Interior progress is also happening and would not be surprised to see it opened this Fall. Another building just south has the foundation walls now poured. The building north of the Tim Hortons is now getting the structural steel installed. They have also finished the insulation board install on the building at the SW corner of Bradley and Wonderland. Alot of new parking pad buildings have sprung up on this stretch of wonderland. Old Oaks has also moved fast with the commercial/light industrial buildings across the street.

Yes we have just a couple little things left to do like insulate the inside and we are done so I would say 3 more weeks worth of work then finished. There are 4 others going behind the others where the other enterance is on wharncliffe. Old oaks as told me to my face that they think we are one of the best construction companies around.

I've been off work since the spring so I haven't been by there lately but the renovation done to the old buildings in that complex was nicely done and I imagine the new buildings will be as well. I've been dealing with businesses in that park for over 30 years and that complex was really shoddy before. Hopefully Old Oak doesn't cannibalize its own business by attracting companies to move there from Meadowbrook.

I’m not sure but I do know that they had a for lease sign up and one of the truck drivers delivering our structural steel had a friend in Brampton interested in renting out some units so hopefully they are attracting more out of city businesses. I do know they didn’t want to give us the go ahead on the next set of buildings next year until some of these were already called for and we got the go ahead a month ago so I guess they already have lots of interest

Meadowbrook is owned by Bluestone now, not Old Oak.

The new McDonalds on Wharncliffe By Southdale is coming along well. Won't be long before they get the exterior cladding/brickwork done. But really looking forward to the Chick-fil-a.

Site prep was completed this past spring and construction has now started on these 3s townhomes at 360 Callaway Rd by Wastdell Developments. The foundations have been poured and framing has already begun for the first units on the east side of the block.



The plan consists of fifty-three (53) dwelling units within
multiple townhouses and a new private road providing access from Callaway Road.
The applicant’s intent is to register the development as one Condominium Corporation.

Bluestone Developments has put up a sign on Pond Mills Rd for an upcoming development proposal.


Don't see anything on the City planning website as of yet.


They have an entry on their own website about a future 11s and 133 suite building.

This would make 3 proposals for them on the future timeline: Gainsborough Rd and Sheffield Blvd.


Which one they decide to move on first will be interesting to see.

That's good to see, given the development on the old golf course starting up now. A school is desperately needed in that area. One of my co-workers lives in the neighbourhood and his kids get bused to Tavistock, a good 20-25 minutes north of Woodstock and constant snow days when the buses are cancelled.

Hole left by fire in Aylmer finally gets a demolition permit to clear the site.


Why would it take so long to issue a permit?
