There is nothing architecturally significant about this development whatsoever. It's the typical highrise development with a podium. Honestly I don't understand the North American attitude, that tall buildings equal thriving downtowns. If anything history has shown the opposite is true. They cast shadows, create wind tunnels, and take away from street life, as most of them are usually connected by pedways.

Why do you think people love European cities so much??? Generally most have no high rise buildings or very few. In fact, Paris has recently put a ban on any new ones being built.

I will take these new developments in Copenhagen any day!

It's less about height and more about design, materials and density... all of which are done well with that former proposal, but to your point, we don't need towers everywhere or in all cases. See Mercury.

F*ck off. I think we've done a lot in this city over the past decade.

This wasn't the only proposal that specific developer left on the drawing board.

Wasn't that an Ontario-based developer as well?

It's a lot of acres...the $/sqft is attractive for sure, but the investment and holding is real.

The bigger question is where will this capital be redirected?

-Sedona?
-109st 'Cascadia 4.0'?
-Kelowna?

If they plan on anything in Edmonton next, I hope it's the Sedona project.

They really need to demolish Dwayne's Home. It's a festering sore in the downtown neighborhood.

That it is, that it is.

Asbestos abatement is one of the delays, but I am hopeful with this one.

I wonder whether the planned design as posted on SRC will be built, it's been sometime since procure updated their website but Sedona does not appear there.
