Apparently the old grain elevator site on Archibald and Mission sold (at the end of Provencher).

it's such a narrow lot that backs onto a railtrack and has limited in/out access. only thing i can think of is self-Storage building? theres already one to the south

I noticed the sold sign a while ago. Interested to see what goes in there. It is a good site for a small industrial client who needs rail service.

Otherwise, maybe a strip mall or one of those 'bay for rent' type places.

I hope whatever gets built there they considering building a multi-use path as it would be essential to connect the future Provencher bike lanes to Gateway in the cycling network.

Me personally, I would love a MURB on that stretch but that mushroom plant probably makes that a nonstarter, but definitely would like some sort of commercial there (hiding surface parking from the street would be nice too just saying)

With all these plans for redevelopment east of Archibald, any plans on moving the mushroom farm? I can't imagine living that close to that stinky place.

The City is, or has already, installed a path on the east side of Archibald where they are doing the reconstruction further south. So it seems the plan is to get a path along Archibald to connect with the access point to the Pioneers Greenway pathway at the CP underpass.

Based on the Provencher study, the plan is just to use the sidewalk along Archibald between the rail grade seps.

I mean, no? It’s a private business in an industrial area, there’s no incentive from anywhere to move it that I’m aware of.

It's a connection between areas. Provencher to Pioneers Greenway. It's in the city plan.

Besides, there are bike paths in other industrial areas. Seel Ave, for example.

Was browsing the City of Winnipeg Public Notices page and noticed a Variance Application for a 32-unit multi-family residential building at 163/165 Aubert St.

^ interesting as theres 2 homes ther now (pretty nice one too), yet an empty lot next door and a "Yard Man" next to it. it would be great if that entire street was high rise

Looks nice. I may be thinking of the place next door that was built on the former Lawn Man site.

The Lawn Man place is gone and there is a 3 or 4 storey development built there. The site other side is empty and awaiting development. So this 163/165 project completes the block.

The property across the street is interesting. It is the last visible relic of the former rail corridor through this area. The property lines are diagonal compared to the streets and the large condo place actually has a slight corner cut off. I dont know who owns the different parcels. But it is an odd site.
