Nice of them to number the floors so it’s easier to tell where they’re at. Is it just my imagination or has this one really slowed down in the last month?

They're probably still working on the amenity level. Those always take a long time compared to the parking below and residences above them.

It wouldn't surprise me given the extraordinary heat wave. I would think the same could be said for all the current construction. I read somewhere that it can get to a point where it's too hot to pour concrete. Your observation of a slow down for the last month lines up with the current consecutive 100 degree + days heat wave.

Of course, that makes so much sense. That’s what I get for no longer living in Austin (or Texas for that matter). I’m out of touch with just how hot it can get, and for how long.

The amenity level was indeed a very complicated affair, it took them almost a month to set it up. Now they are setting forms for the first residential level it should pick up again.

I saw on their instagram that the parking facade panels had arrived (alas, I didn't take a screenshot and the story expired). They looked really nice, glassy with black accents. I assume we'll be seeing them up soon.

This heatwave is the hottest for the longest we've ever seen on record so this is extreme for Texas standards... like so many of places around the world experiencing unprecedented heatwaves.

I'm curious about the levels above the garage. It may be an optical illusion, but in one of the pictures, it looked like the section under construction right now is wider than the garage portion. Is that accurate or simply an optical illusion?

That’s just their formwork sticking out. The concrete slab will be flush with lower levels.

There's also a flared concrete column visible at the top of the last picture (facing East). But the edges of the slabs seem to be lined up.

It's back up. The view sometimes zooms out to show all the projects being built in Rainey. So it will be able to adjust as the tower gets higher.

I am intrigued by the really dark color of the garage panels being installed. This is the recent picture of the panels:

And this is the rendering on the Modern website:

I can't see how what's being installed is what's shown on the render...

Good catch. The project's website shows the darker panels in a street level rendering:

The architecture firm that designed it has a couple more street level renderings of the darker panels. I wonder if the entire tower will be this darker color? The renderings of the entire tower have not been updated to show the darker panels.
