Liberty Sky looked dated 15 years before it was conceived. Really a shame that's the building we got there, but at least it is being surrounded by better, taller skyscrapers.

I still maintain that if Liberty sky simply clad those wide exposed concrete slabs in vertical gardens it would suddenly be one of the most attractive buildings in the city.

Just wish we could have gotten something more there. With the Maverik Building and the other brown mid-rise all there, it's kind of a depressing block or so lol

Westminster has completed demolition of 3 single-family homes and broken ground on the L.S. Skaggs Integrated Wellness Center fronting 13th east just across from Allen park/recent townhome project.


This small 810 E 800 S mixed-use project is nearing completion. It looks like 3 retail spaces and will have residential units above. It fits in perfectly among the other commercial uses at 800S/800E

Good eye Scott, I agree! I always cringe whenever Cowboy Partners announces a project. I've been following their pattern for at least fifteen years now, ever since they tried to aggressively insert themselves into Holladay's city center plan. The reason is I've noticed how they will most often present an attractive rendering, but almost always the final product is significantly dumbed down.

As Blah_Amazing pointed out earlier, I have to wonder what their Liberty Duet Project will actually end up looking like. The rendering is attractive enough, but who knows how stripped-down it will end up being? It bothers me that the city keeps letting them get away with their bait-and-switch tactics. Their feet should be held to the fire and not allow final approval until the actual product or adequate alternatives are guaranteed. I'm holding my breath on this one, especially since it would seem they have increased its size significantly with an additional number of building plots since originally announced.

Yeah, The base of that was pretty much a clunky hot mess. The one-dimensional poorly executed renderings weren't much of a help either. They make it impossible to tell if the tower portion has attractive potential or not.

Agreed the base could be cleaner, but I actually didn't mind that tower. Like delts said the renders made it hard to see the full scale... particularly the top. One thing I liked is the interesting use of lines and angles. It certainly had a more modern vibe than what is currently proposed.
