I finally got to explore the new Boston North Station / TD Garden entrance a couple weeks ago. The relation between the station and the arena is amazing. There are turnstiles for the station across a small concourse from the arena escalators. That concourse is lined with 4 or 5 shops that are easily accessible to both rail passengers and arena goers. And finally the huge atrium entrance that serves the station and arena equally is incredible. 76 Place should be studying TD Garden heavily. I want to see as much integration with the regional rail station and upper floor of the mall as possible. The large space over 10th street in the rendering is a good sign.

I'm still struggling to understand what's happening with Filbert St. One of the renderings mentions a "Filbert St Promenade". Will Filbert St remain open to the public?

Love a residential component! Now add a hotel addition and we really have a win for Center City.

Love the tower and the arena! This think is a no brainer. Build it!!!! Looks to be about the same height as Aramark/Jefferson Tower as well, which would make this building about 412 feet tall.

The tower at the arena is really cool!
Id love to see this get built but i think part of me will always be sad that all the teams arent in 1 spot anymore.
I would love to see a hotel thrown in here as well and some retail on the ground to make sure the area is at least somewhat active because an arena only brings traffic when theres an event.
However i do want the city to put some protections in place for chinatown should this arena be approved. It would suck to loose such a vibrant community. I hate to say it but could it get some kind of historical protection? Or some policy to prioritize overbuilds and parking lot development without demolition the other buildings in the neighborhood?

Such a better design on the arena, and they said you can't build towers on NBA arenas, however they didn't say anything about building it next to them though

I think this will be a great Anchor for the Entertainment District, and a great addition.

Facebook, X & Reddit are going crazy too

Hey Summers, shall a 76 Place proposal be created?

It doesn't appear this tower is helping the cause... Social media is a firestorm.
The traffic complaints are always a fun read, and the super vocal young folks sound no different than middle age rich people in Gladwyne complaining about 3 new homes being built. Some people have legit complaints, but the majority of outrage I read is people making noise for the heck of it...

I'm neutral to the arena plan, just reporting on what I've been reading.

Word on the street is it’s happening. The trades made big contributions to Parker’s campaign and politicians privately want to green light it. They can complain all they want…

I really hope the arena gets built. It would be transformative to Market St and all the added games, shows, and performances would add so much energy to center city. Another hotel is probably needed on Market to support the added volume.

This could actually save the Fashion District from extinction and turn it into a real shopping/entertainment destination.

Yep it'll cut the retail space in half which is exactly the amount of space that the Fashion District can support. Add in a Modell's, Chickie's and Pete's, Mitchell and Ness, Yard House etc. It would be awesome for the 76ers to incorporate local places into the stadium, especially Bar-Ly (awesome sports bar in Chinatown).

How about a flagship Crayola and Hershey store? Two of the most iconic brands in the world. Add in a Yuengling or Dogfish Head brewpub?

It'll be a bummer to lose the movie theater but I can see AMC snatching up the old Riverview movie theater on Columbus Blvd and gutting it. That theater surely can be retrofitted to be nice again. The theater was still very popular before covid.
