Maybe it just strikes me that way because they haven't progressed on the facade.
You'll notice on 7/10, they were working on the 20th floor and on 7/24 they were working on the 22nd floor. That's about a floor a week.

Does anyone know what the story is with The Metro condos on State Street? They’ve had construction scrim up around the building for a while. I was kind of wondering what is going on here. The place is only like 15 years old. I’m guessing the builders messed up on something?

Wow, I really haven't been paying attention for something that's right outside my window. In my defense, I've been way overworked for the past few months, too. I guess the facade mockup really was just confusing my brain.

Anyway, it's awesome to hear RWP is coming down. When I spoke to Ryan at the Meridian tour, he sounded confident and committed to the next phase. Good to see it's moving forward.

200 E, not State. That street level facade had been crumbling for years. I suspect there were similar install issues for the rest of the building that they've probably been saving up condo fees for ever since.

Too bad they want to build a Home Depot across the street to the north. Talk about a buzz kill for that area.

From what I've heard, the Home Depot project is dead.

I noticed earlier this week there were construction workers inside the scorched remains of the sugar alley apts project. They didn't seem to be doing any major work but maybe it is the start of something. I believe a few months ago nearby businesses suggested construction would resume around aug/sept. I can try and grab pics next time

Also, I am surprised there haven't been any Worthington delays due to the nightmare 200S reconstruction. I had an appointment nearby and they made me reschedule due to the road closures lol

Were there any renderings or plans of it? I have seen some interesting mixed-use developments with big box stores, like in Vancouver.

I used the image Atlas posted from Reddit to demonstrate how much difference just two taller towers would make to the skyline. The tallest is my dream vision for the Zion tower. The roof sits at 600 feet with the spire reaching approximately 725 feet. The second is roughly where the Cascade would be so it's a long shot to see something this tall in that location. I would've roughed in the Worthington, but all the offset windows is something I didn't want to attempt lol.

Looks great. I occasionally read here that anything over 600 feet would look bad in the SLC skyline, but it would look amazing. Just two towers of that height would make SLC skyline significantly more impressive

Something like this would break the ceiling!! Nice rendition. I would argue you could go even taller, but it looks awesome!
