So is the 32 story tower going up next if the 28 story tower is 'phase 3' in the docs?

Just realized that this project is going to suffer from the same thing as the nearby city park: anglos who think it's called "River Rain".

They changed up the phases but it doesn't reflect on the drawings or site plans for some reason. The next tower is the 28 story one located in the back aka Phase 3.

So the project will go as follows Phase 1-3-2.

I spoke with the super on site and he says main+main wants the excavation to start in the new year for the 28 story tower (Phase 3).

It’s going up pretty fast, I actually really like the scale of the podium as you cross the Cummings bridge and it’s proximity to the street helps continue the urban fabric from Rideau.

I can't believe how fast it's going up. Today as I was crossing Cummings Bridge it felt like the road ended at the podium, you can't really see the left curve until the very end. This really is a 'gateway' project for Vanier.

Going up a floor per week. Should top out mid-late November.

Haven't seen it yet, but M+M seem to be on the ball. Their Relevé project, which is absolutely huge compared to most in Ottawa, is also going up quite quickly. If these turn out well, I hope they continue to propose and build large, visible and iconic projects in Ottawa for years to come.

Spoke with a family friend from out of town about Ottawa a couple weeks ago. Her son is moving into Hheinvay for school this fall.

I was like, 'excuse you? what building?' 'heinvay, it's new, down on Rrrideau Avenue.

Envy. Isn't it called Envy? As in one of the deadly sins?

Edit: note she's super anglo from a small town. Very fancy french building her son is moving into.

Drove past this the other day on my way back to work after an appointment. It's going to have a HUGE presence. it already does, and they are only partially done the first tower/podium...

It's one heck of a 'gateway' to Vanier, it just looms over the end of Cummings Bridge.

I actually love that about this development. At street-level, it really holds a presence. If the ultimate goal of the city is to densify Montreal rd, this is a great start.

Big project, yes, but super basic. I guess it's designed by the one and only architect we have in this city who seems to design virtually everything (as all buildings in Ottawa look exactly the same)
