Please, no.

There must be a similarly-coloured building in Vegas (that's not associated with him) or another place that would be a much better unofficial comparator.

Well, I wouldn't call it the Mandela Bay. Hmm...not the Parisian, not the Palazzo.
I'm thinking it could be closer to the Veer towers, but much better quality.

I was in Las Vegas last month so these buildings are still somewhat fresh in my memory.

It's great to see this building rise.

Hrmm that feels like a very pale comparison - like you said this building is of much better quality..

Im also a please no. That man takes credit for enough things that are not his. Please don’t give him any for this. This tower is possibly going to be the nicest in town.

a bit complex - but you can add an "h" at the end of the URL of imgur uplaods which reduces it to a more normal size. example:

A faculty friend told me this weekend that 1 bedroom rents would be $2000. He also said that units would be assigned by faculty, rather than some sort of free for all, which I found a little interesting.

Makes sense. Ensures that this won't end up dominated by engineering, business, humanities, medicine, etc. and instead remain a mix.

I wonder if residences on campus are allocated that way? I probably used to know, but I'm old! lol

Not sure what you're implying by this, but university (including grad) students tend to have very little money -- low income, high debt, high tuition, etc.

As a current grad student, I can confirm I would never be able to afford a $2000 rent on my stipend

Most students pay their rent on a line of credit or OSAP loans, and other grants. So actually university students have quite a bit of money to spend.

what I am implying is that mac students either take out tuition loans or their parents foot the bill for them to stay in residence, and those tho tend to go to mac have money in some form, whether it from tuition OSAP, scholarships, or parents who have saved up to send their kids to university.

Versus those who go to say regular college, which is still pricy, but imo not AS pricy.

But yes I echo the sentiments above - most will most likely come from rich parents either abroad or locally.
