I got a bad performance review at my part-time retail job. Apparently I don't show any initiative and lack a sense of urgency.

I care more about a bad performance review from a minimum wage retail job than the career I have that I actually enjoy and am good at. Go figure

got them all after the 20's

Valparaiso Indiana really? I don't think in 1910 it would be considered part of chicagoland perhaps not even today.

others I missed on

Braidwood
La Grange
Forest Park
Whiting
Harlem, wheres Harlem?

Harlem is modern day Forest Park, Illinois. Valparaiso is a result of the US Census Bureau defining metro areas by county; Braidwood is equally questionable (the far corner of Will County down towards Morris). In 1910 Aurora, Elgin, etc. weren't part of Chicagoland; they are in for consistency's sake.

Edit: Made Valparaiso a bonus. This means Portage, Indiana would be ineligible for the modern lists, but Portage isn't close to making them.

European Union received the Nobel Peace Prize. I anticipate the forum's bot posting an article about it in Current Events. Wait for the fireworks from our resident Europhile...

I hear next year the Nobel peace prize will simply be awarded to the concept of peace.

That makes about as much sense as previous winners (Obama? EU? Seriously!?)

The runner up to this year's Nobel peace prize was "food".

I guess the Arab Spring protesters who brought down decades-old dictatorial regimes were not deserving.

Remember, these are the same people who gave Obama a Nobel Peace Prize for running a campaign based on "hope" and "change."

They did that to "encourage" him. Like, to encourage him to attack the middle east with drones. So peaceful that way.
