Yup. Even then it would be a tie at 56k.

well..
probably time to pull out the cross country poll of league support again..
MLS soccer & NBA basketball are at the bottom.. no surprises.. lets move on..

NHL is at the top, except for Saskatchewan of course, where the NFL is almost as popular as NHL ..

It makes sense to me that the leagues that have more of their support amongst people under 30 would show lower tv ratings as there is a very clear trend for that cohort not to have access to regular television at all.

There also appears to be a general trend of less interest in professional and organized sports amongst younger generations. I know in my case, there is very little interest in professional sport amongst my peers. People might go to a game on the rare occasion, but it's not as fans so much as consumers seeking entertainment. They might just as likely go watch a musical or go to the beach or something else entirely. The sports my peers are involved in skew very strongly toward individual sports (with the odd exception of ultimate), but I suspect that's more a peculiarity of my own interests skewing in that direction and therefore my group of peers reflecting that.

TV ratings can vary from game to game but ratings in French for non playoff games are generally like this:

Habs: 700k to 1M
Alouettes: 150k to 250k
Impact: 100-150 k

^ Cross-country Olympics sounds kind of weird... if we can't/won't pay for the IOC mandated facilities, why not just let some other sucker host the games? I'd much rather see $10B or $25B or whatever the games would cost dumped into amateur sports programs and facilities... you can do that without lining the IOC's pockets in the process.

Im hearing over 60% Mexican supporters. Also the world is laughing at Canadian soccer supporters because our "soccer song battle cry thing" is literally "who ha canada who ha canada". Twitter is having a hay day with this. And to make things worse Snapchat made a global story about this game. Honestly this whole "OVER HERE!! OVER HERE!! LOOK AT US EUROPE!!" Thing that Canadian soccer fans are doing is sort of pathetic

Apparently it is because you obviously haven't been following them which is no surprise to me because I see stupid uninformed shit like you just posted all the time.

But I guess we'll find out tonight when they play the number 12 ELO rated Mexico.

Sorry I hurt your feelings but on the world stage we're embarrassingly bad.

Out of curiosity, I just googled the ranking for the Canadian men's national football team.

"Current FIFA world ranking: 87"

http://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranki...men/index.html

The obvious conclusion if you're not delusional: we suck at football.

There, was that so hard?

We definitely suck but were steadily getting better and our form has improved markedly under Floro. That being said, Mexico is one of the worlds best teams so not expecting much from this game. Our attacking players are not so bad but our defence is atrocious and the formation Floro is using seems bizzare.

Ok, so now that you're our resident expert, when we play equally (this past year) with World Cup sides like Colombia, Ghana, US and Honduras and are competitive does that mean we suck?

We're ranked 26th in basketball (with less countries ranked than soccer) behind countries like Iran, Dominican Republic and Tunisia does that mean we suck at basketball?

What sucks is your guy's simplistic generalized comments based on ancient history without any recent input and your blind arrow shot actually hit the target tonight.
