On a similar topic, I wonder why encore doesn’t operate YVR-YXE/YQR. Jazz does (or did, not sure if they still do) fly the route with a Q400. That would allow them multiple daily flights, especially good for connnecting in from Hawaii in the morning.

Sorry I should have said daily non-stop. In winter, neither YQR or YXE is daily. And yes Encore would make sense for those routes. I think Jazz uses CR-900s on those routes, but same capacity basically yes.
I know HX wants Toronto, but aren't they free to launch that route at anytime? I think Canada-Hong Kong bilaterals are totally different, so there's nothing stopping them from starting that route now?
I just thought with all of those YYC codeshares it might be saying something. But CloudInspector is probably right, and it has to do with departure times ex-YVR, and connecting thru WS makes more sense.
