Hah! This is whole thing is such a bullshit proposal that I can't believe it even got column space in the DBJ. The Dikeou's are some of the worst land squatters in downtown, probably worse than the Cooke family or Buzz Gheller.

Crap is going to come of this until John Dikeou sheds his mortal coil.

Had somewhat different but similar thoughts.

Perhaps if Tryba can get this rezoning done would be the point where the Dikeou Family would be willing to cash out at the newly inflated land values. Then again their take on those values could be warped. The other possibility is that the Family would be amenable to writing 100-year land leases based on the newly inflated values?

I thought that the zoning wasn't the issue, it was the crazy west boundary of the City Park view plane that zigzags between Broadway, Lincoln, Sherman, and the various alleyways in between.

This is the first time I've ever heard their name. At least Gheller tries to get some cool shit built. He does seem to fail often but maybe there will come a day when he can get one of his grandiose proposals off the ground. That or he'll just give up and sell his properties while we get some boxy 25 story Meridian/AC looking building.

I find it amazing that the streetscape is constantly changing weekly. The city is constantly evolving. What exciting times we live in.

Agreed. Having lived in RiNo for over a year now, the changes there are in maximum overdrive right now it feels like. Just today I noticed the crane for the Hub project is up, and it feels so weird seeing a crane in that particular part of RiNo. Also, the red brick facade is up on the Ramble Hotel and it actually looks pretty good.

More details on the 'Sherman St North" rezoning plan. Even if there is little chance of the developments actually getting moving I definitely like the vision. Good density near transit and jobs and would provide for a more appropriate book end to compliment Union Station and a more inviting transition from Civic Center into Uptown.

Telling that the Dikeou's have owned two of the parking lots since the 60's and 70's and have done zero improvements in that entire time.

The plan is good, but this particular set of owners ensures that nothing will ever come of this.

So how old are we now? How many children and grandchildren have we now? There comes a time in everyone's life...
