I like the black brick and like the new project on the Downtown west side (because we don't see much other than Lebreton).

However, I hate how this building is SO thin from one angle and SO large from another... I would've much rather seen two square towers at either end of the lot, each could've gone up maybe 20 or 23 floors in order to make up for the lost space between the two towers... (Kind of like TriBeCa)

Has anyone received their new pre-delivery inspection date yet? Just wondering cause I haven't gotten mine yet and I move in in a month. Worrying if there might be another delay which would be a problem if we hire movers at this point and because we've already given notice for my boyfriend's current apartment.

I believe that there will be an other delay of one month or two. From careful daily observation, it appears that the lower floors are almost complete: floors 3 to 8 or 9th. The brick work is half done, still missing a few Windows, the first 2 floors are maybe @ 40 to 50% complete. So, I would plan for at least an extra month. As I am on one of the upper floor, I expect at least an extra month to the date I was given.

If this is the case, we're indeed going to be running into some major issues as we had to give our notice for our current apartment a month ago since every apartment building requires 60 days notice for move out. Here's hoping they're on track for the date especially since they've been silent regarding any additional delays.

I'm not going to give my notice until I have my pre-delivery inspection whenever it happens to be. I have already budgeted and I personally prefer to pay an extra month or two to avoid being caught with having to put my stuff in storage or having to stay at friends or relatives and sleep in peace. Not matter what the new occupancy date, the longer I am waiting, the more I am saving towards the closing.

My predelivery inspection is now scheduled for next week. So fingers crossed they're gonna be on time.

That's a smart move. Every time we moved we paid rent/mortgage on two places for a couple weeks to a month. It's way less stressful knowing you have the time to prep the new place before the move especially now with 2 kids & pets. I've helped friends/family move & it's very stressful having to rush all their stuff in & out all in one day.

Yes, they're on time as the Toronto office told me when I inquired. I will be renting my parking space on a long term basis. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

Haha... yes, it's planned for this February... I'm not too concerned about the black stone going up, as long as the interior is good to go. I'm assuming since they only postponed it 2 weeks, rather than the month, it should be close to being completed.

This is not good news for me...did your landlord explicitly say whether the date change came from the builders or was on his end? I haven't received mail or e-mail yet regarding this.

Ide - I hope you're right regarding them being on time.

It's kind of ridiculous that we're still subjected to the stress of these possible delays, even with a firm occupancy date that has been set a second time. I'm gonna flip if they delay again with barely a few weeks notice, let alone the 90 days notice they are legally supposed to give us for delays based on our contract. You're supposed to be able to plan these things with the confidence that you will be able to move in on that day. You know, renting trucks and movers, internet cancellations and setups, lease termination notices...

The Toronto office told me that there are on time to move people. No changes for me yet. As a really rough guideline, with their King East building in Toronto, they moved people in between end of October through to November 2012 I believe and the registration/closing was around April 2013. So if it follows a similar track, it would probably be around the beginning to middle of summer. And yeah, I hope to be able to get in at a good rate before things start moving upwards too.

My landlord said he called and spoke to a Gotham rep who told him the occupancy date is now February 13th.

Doing a PDI for a client this Friday for a unit on the 5th floor. With an occupancy set not far after (Jan 20th if I read my notes correctly).
