Something else I heard discussed though, was the product placement Kubota got... Its the Cold and CFL culture. The NFL rolls out new turf for each Super Bowl and you don't get the issues of paint like in the CFL and for some NCAA bowl games. They donate the turf to a school after but its a hefty 300K price tag for carpet that will be used for one night. The CFL could have every CIS Football program with new turf in 15 years if it adopted the same approach. It would be a cool idea but the CFL has never felt the need to for the expense just yet.

One of the host sites for the 2015 Women's World Cup is Montreal's Olympic Stadium and I don't think they are doing much if anything to spruce up the place. I could be wrong, I've heard nothing. What an opportunity wasted.

The comparison is that the NFL does not face this issue because for Super Bowl sites they install brand new turf for the game.

One thing that I find difficult to find are interior pictures of stadiums. Seeing what a stadium looks like inside gives me a better feel for stadiums that I haven't been in. Here are a few pictures of ones that I have been in:

Definitely agree with the importance of landscaping. Half of what makes the two-sided stadium trio of Regina/Ottawa/Winnipeg so unappealing to me is that they were/are just old structures surrounded by a sea of concrete. Unforunately I don't see that changing for Regina when they get their new stadium, but the plans for Lansdowne Park are going to do wonders in transforming Frank Claire into what I believe will be a completely unique CFL experience.

^IGF really ups the CFL stadium ante. I'd love to see Regina (and Calgary) one-up them, however.

For sure, definitely looks like something that would be a source of pride for the city. I'm sure Regina and Calgary will both have great stadiums too, especially since I think both are planning on spending more money.

Unfortunately, there has been no information released on any plans to refurbish McMahon or build a new stadium here in Calgary.
Regina's plans though look very promising ( but should have more seats IMO)

Look for a 2014 announcement by Ken King in conjunction with the new arena announcement..
