According to their website the crown will have penthouse amenities. Personally I find this frustrating, it's a similar approach to 6G where only the penthouse residents get access to the top-floor space. I much prefer how buildings like the Hanovers, Austonian, ATX Tower and 415 Colorado handle it, with rooftop amenities open to all residents. Restricting access to the top-floor amenity feels unnecessarily exclusive when you're already paying so much to live in these buildings.

Also considering this is hotel, office and residential in one tower, I don't understand why they wouldn't have an observation deck open to the public.. Or at the very least the hotel guests..

Overall I'm excited to see this complete and do like how it's turned out so far. It's pretty astonishing the city (especially this tower) doesn't offer anything to the general public for city views.

Also, when I mention observation towers/decks, I'm mostly referring to supertalls with a floor dedicated to the public, not a CN Tower style structure. There's no excuse for Austin at this point, it all just boils down to developers trying to cut as many corners as possible and make a quick buck. It's why we see the bar lowered over and over--and why I'm hardly active on here anymore.

In the end, the only way most people will enjoy views from Waterline will be through their phone screens via some tacky influencer giving a staged tour of their $9,000 mo. rental.

What is going to be in the crown, anyway?

Don't know the current plan. However, originally it was to be an amenity of some sort for the residents.

I concur with the comments about the top floor of the tower.

A public amenity, even a section for an upscale Bar/Lounge and a section for a quiet "card key lounge" for Residents and Hotel Guests. Something Public; Something Private for the Tallest Skyscraper in Texas. Come On. If it is really only for the Penthouse in a Multi-Use Tower of this Stature; Then I am Really Very Disappointed. The exclusivity will be disgusting.
