Here's another angle of this project, from someone I follow on Flickr.

I hope to see this project next month when I go to Hamilton.

I took this yesterday, just as I got to the city.
I saw a bit of the podium and it looks okay. The use of masonry, while not very impressive, at least is used with some articulation and detail. Sorry, didn't grab any images of it.

Doesn't look like they've increased the height much in almost 2 months since the last person posted pics?

Pardon? It has grown significantly in the past two months. Like 10 floors.

Up we go

The tallest tower is now 23 stories, going up quickly.

This has grown skyward over 10 stories in a very short period of time.

She's all one wide beast with sections of different heights.

Um, no?

Not according to the images posted in april and may on here:

for comparison - I highlighted the same spot in both pictures almost 2 months apart - its grown 2-3 stories in a month and a half. I'll admit, I rounded to 2 months from a month and a half, but still, not 10 floors lol.

Not sure where you got ten floors from.. unless you meant horizontally.. then maybe by segment..

Just noticed I could see this from Main St. east of Ottawa. It'll be even more prominent when the final floors are completed.

Similarly, the King William twins have been visible from Lawrence Road, when driving west past Gage Park.

Been a long time since anyone could see more than "Century 21" and "Stelco Tower" from the east end or Stoney Creek.

Does anybody have shots of this from the Mountain, or skyline/horizon shots? Would be interesting to see how big and tall this is from other vantage points...

Sighs, even though they bricked the podium themselves, the lintel system they used still makes it looks like precast panels - just.. feels.. so.. AWKWARD looking...

are they no longer capable of making a multi-story building look like a seamless brick face? This seems to be the trend with all new builds.. I mean core urban does...

...just makes the end result sadly look much cheaper than it ever should have...

They really don't understand why people want to see real brick eh? Like if it's going to look like precast anyway, just install precast.. I'm fine with that if it's going to look like that anyway... Spend the extra savings on other elements to up their quality.

Exactly - we want to see real brick because we want to see the old world craftsmanship that original brick brings. As you said i its gonna look cheap anyways then just do precast brick stamped concrete and put those savings somewhere else on the building.

The sad part is this is LIUNA of all people - they SHOULD be aware of this. They represent laborers.

Bet they couldn't even recreate the original back architecture if they wanted to in this day and age.. *grumbles*..
