I like staff's final design.
- crossing = good
- no bus pockets = good
- raised median to stop cars from passing the bus and hitting people or other cars = good
- cycleway on both sides = good (if occasional cyclist rides the wrong way - no big deal)

Small things I would change:
- make the car lane narrower and give that extra 1 metre to the sidewalk
- add bus shelters
- make the cycleway weave and pass behind a bus shelter, like on Booth @ Pimisi
