Black history museum proposed for downtown Kalamazoo

Plans for the museum were announced by the Rev. William Stein and state Rep. Julie Rogers, D-Kalamazoo, at a media briefing Monday, Feb. 14, at the Wesley Foundation of Kalamazoo.
A building or parcel of land for the museum has not yet been identified, but the estimated $30 million project would entail either buying land and building on it or purchasing and converting an existing two- or three-story structure in downtown Kalamazoo.
