Who knows? This is the nth iteration of such rumours but this time it feels a bit different. As in, numerous credible sources are actually (carefully) mentioning it this time whereas previously nobody was really touching the story.

Ian Mendes also wrote a piece in the Athletic stating that there are “multiple ownership groups that are waiting in the wings and would happily step up and purchase this team if it was actually on the market.” Elliotte Friedman has also recently discussed this during a segment; others have too.

I’ll be over here remaining hopeful but not holding my breath.
