Freeways definitely do not make great transit corridors with regards to station locations and pedestrian access. The only plus is the nagging visual reminder to suburban commuters stuck in traffic that they could have been on that train that just zipped by.
Maybe in the same spirit that we build wildlife crossings across the highways in national parks, we should consider creating "civilized crossings" where these stations are over the 174 — wide plaza-like overpasses that prioritize people.
