1. 21 Places in 2021
Wood TV put together a little montage of 21 places / projects "in and around" Grand Rapids that hope to open in 2021. Using the quotes, because they include projects outside the city limits too; even Kalamazoo - for some reason. There's a short video at the link below. There's a lot of photos too (too many to try and re-post on here).
2. Spectrum Health Brass Works Building
Spectrum Health has purchased the Brass Works Building (
648 Monroe Ave NW) and an adjacent parking lot in Monroe North for $25 million, with plans to remodel the Brass Works and connect it with a new ~ 80,000 - 100,000 SF building to be built on the parking lot. Plans also include a new parking ramp. This is all part of a much bigger jigsaw puzzle built around Spectrum's plans to consolidate separate, independent leases, lower the rent costs, and repurpose current administrative space in properties along the Medical Mile.
Spectrum has been buying up lots of lots in Monroe North, as this diagram illustrates -
