^ Looks like the screen extends above the upper deck of LSD, but not to an outrageous height... i would guess about 4-5' above the upper roadway deck. And if the screen only goes between Ogden Slip and the river, I doubt it will block very many views. You'll still be able to look down the river canyon.

It's more about visual screening of the cars from down below than it is about noise reduction. A perforated metal screen doesn't do much to block noise compared to concrete or wood.

Hopefully the screen will be installed on the DuSable Park side as well, so the park isn't overshadowed by a huge and very ugly highway structure. The new path flyover is at least elegantly designed...
