This but unironically. Like a too-small hospital or a leaky roof, the pro-demo side argues that the city has outgrown the viaducts and it's time to replace them. They're not entirely wrong.

There's plenty of arguments in favour of keeping Georgia and Dunsmuir the way they are - I've stated my concerns about at-grade design and commuters ignoring traffic lights.

The sunk-cost fallacy is not such an argument. And invoking the generation that fought tooth and nail to block the viaducts as a reason to keep the viaducts is just Insane Troll Logic. It made no sense the first time you said it, and it makes even less now.
