There is a huge case to be made for rail but nobody wants to under-take the extensive and long-process of actually investing infrastructure which is a shame since modern Canada, especially the West was settled based on railways...

There are several promising technologies I hope we will take a second look at including the Bombardier Jettrain which could run on existing tracks at over 200 KM/H without the need for special track or overhead wires...

But as it stands now with CP and CN milking the century old lines for every dollar of profit without actually expanding capacity, rail seems doomed...
