The latest jobs report was so good (BC and Quebec) that it's fuelled national interest rate hike likelihood. The crazy thing is only BC, Quebec, (and to a far lesser extent Alberta) created jobs last month. And of those 3, only BC created all full time jobs. I am 33 now, and have been a political/economics junkie since I was like 14, and I don't remember a period so long and sustained prosperity. I did not support the NDP in the election here, but they are now in charge and I don't wish them to fail because that would mean the province would suffer, and I am not one to believe in "cut off your nose to spite your face". But the employment growth under the Liberal term has been astonishing, and definitely the leader in Canada. I hope the NDP don't f**k it up and do major damage to one of the longest uninterrupted prosperity periods in our history. Again, this is not all real estate related at all! It is broad based and covers many industries, one year after the real estate tax that everyone thought would sideswipe the province, and we are still growing strong. I find people everywhere else is Canada is so quick to jump and promote their own good news stories (heck, Nova Scotia still has one of the higher unemployment rates in this country and yet they are still able to promote and bolster the good news coming from their province). But people here in BC never seem to with our province, more often good news stories are met with nonsense like "well, it's coming at the expense of working people" or "it's still not good here". People need to change their attitude here, and that doesn't mean glossing over shortfalls or mistakes the province is making, acknowledging and correcting bad policy or errors is essential, but there's still so much negaitivity and naysaying in this province, when there shouldn't be

This is a great post! I find it very interesting how negative people view their own world! It is these people whom find the negative in a positive situation. The reality is your world is not going to get better if you continue to espouse a negative outlook.
The fact that the province is creating a positive economy to serve the needs and well being of the inhabitants of the province should not be overlooked.

The fact is the individual has the responsibility to be an adult and create a positive situation for themselves!
