On the World Champions note....i'm always amused when American leagues claim world champion status when they're usually either A) Completely uncontested because nobody else plays the sport (American football) or, B) Clearly not the best in the world at the sport itself (baseball). The World Series champions are usually made up of plenty of non-Americans and the US has yet to even finish in the top 3 of the World Baseball Classic. I'd pay a decent amount of money to see MLB teams play against Korean or Japanese teams to fight it out for best club teams in the world.
On that note the 2017 World Baseball Classic is coming up in less than a month! Games being played in Seoul, Tokyo, LA, Miami, San Diego, and Guadalajara. Canada is in a group with the US and they play March 12th in Miami.  |
