Apparently there are preliminary talks going on between Halifax and Moncton to sponsor a bid for the World Junior Hockey Championships in 2021.

Scotiabank Centre in Halifax has a capacity of 10,600, while the new events centre in Moncton (whatever it will be called at that time - naming rights have not yet been put on the market) will have a capacity of about 8,500.

It may be time for an east coast bid for the tournament.

2017 - Montreal/Toronto (central Canada)
2018 - Buffalo (central Canada by default)
2019 - Vancouver/Victoria (western Canada)
2020 - Prague, Czechia
2021 - ? Halifax/Moncton (Atlantic Canada)

Moncton's event centre will still be brand new (opening in 2018), and will be state of the art. Scotiabank Place in Halifax has good bones. It will be a strong bid as long as Hockey Canada isn't spooked by the arena capacities.
