And reading the article, of course Dream Developments and other developers wouldn't want to warn people about these issues before they move in...because then people wouldn't be so receptive to these sardine-can home neighbourhoods! I also like how the city said they don't think 8.7m-wide streets are appropriate when there are houses on both sides...but their bylaw allows it. Of course developers are going to cheap out and build to the minimum! If you don't like it, change the bylaws to force them!

This is part of the City's long term vision
. They see self driving cars coming. They know in a few years it will not matter where you park. You will just click a button on you phone app and summon your car or a self driving Uber and it will show up in front of your house before you walk down your front steps. This is all true but of course the City is not thinking of this it doesn't help anyone who is living there today.
