Architecturally the new stadium is nothing to get excited about. It is standard, American stadium architecture from the last decade. Is is not enclosed (nor should it be) and it is literally oriented like a trumpet to blast sound towards the Cathedral Area. At the very least we could have stuck with the concept drawings that were released two years ago, instead having it completely redesigned in an inferior manner.
Stadiums are simply a waste of money. They don't make money and they do not drive economic progress. Virtually every study agrees. They are simply a symbol. Most importantly a symbol of waste and largess.
I will not apologize for criticizing public money being spend on sports teams that barely uses the facility.

What is foolish is attempting a reno on a structure that was cobbled together in the first place. If you were going to the trouble of knocking down the east side, you might as well knock the whole thing down and start fresh. Trust me, once you open up the west side there would be numerous "discoveries" that would drive the cost higher and higher.
The noise issue is a red herring. At most 10 dates for a max 30 hrs of noise. Is Cathedral that delicate towards noise? Do we hear the same complaints when Buffalo Days are being held and the longer period of noise from the Midway?
I like the looks of the stadium, I like the clean lines and the horseshoe design.
It's getting built, there was a referendum, everyone had their say. Learn to deal with it.
