That photo Boris posted is also around 6 kilometers out of the core and on a not-so major street. It's not like that is the only example. I did live on that street last year, and it's not so bad, but no retail on that section. Right near Marda Loop though which is great! I like 17th Avenue and Bow Trail in and around Westbrook. It certainly isn't great yet by any means, but all I see is potential when I look around there. A subway station, tons of existing low-rise density, tons of street retail and pubs, an already completed major TOD with an almost 100-meter tall tower, and a mall ripe for redevelopment. I will get pictures this week as we are house/dog sitting for friends in Westbrook. It's kinda nice to be able to walk to a "subway" station to get to work again.
