Shopping malls in Crisis in Bari, Italy

Part of my family, generations back, is actually from Bari and I was able to visit the city when I was studying in Florence.

All I remember is that it was vastly different than the northern Italian cities and I don't remember shopping options. I know I really had to get by on the little Italian I knew as it was not very touristy.....or safe
