I would have preferred a darker black-brown, but there still good contrast to the wall behind.

Definitely has a retro art deco feel to it (which is a bit weird given the Georgian style of the hotel, but whatever).
It's a lot more "solid" (in a solid presence sense) than a serif font would be.

BTW - note the small spotlights installed above the two pilasters to the left.
