Northport Clears Way For 16.9 acre Development along the Black Warrior

The Northport Redevelopment Authority (didn't know one existed...) has cleared the way for a 16.9 acre development just outside of downtown Northport, along the Black Warrior River.
The $70 Million development would include a 200 room hotel, 65 unit multifamily complex that could be used as condos or apartments, as well as a single family residential neighborhood. There are also plans to incorporate the wetlands in this area into a park area, and would use the historic 1882 bridge that spanned the river (how?).
I'm confused as to which bridge they're talking about. I'm doing some research and maybe it's
this one? Yea, I'm pretty sure it's that one. Judging by this
article from 2009, it was restored and the city intends to use it for something like this development.
The article goes on to say that it could be a year or more before everything really moves forth.
