^ Kasim would probably have the best handle on getting state money for it, although Lisa would probably be better at getting private money for it. Kasim did mention trying to get that law passed that would allow counties to partner to raise tax funds, and suggested that Fulton and DeKalb team up to use it to fund the Beltline. I'm not sure I follow that, as the Beltline is entirely within Fulton county. Lisa also had an idea to give incentives to house police officers, teachers, etc in affordable housing that will be constructed along the beltline.
Mary specifically said it would be a mistake to build the northeast line first, even though it's currently the only viable part in terms of existing density. She said if we build that portion first, the rest of it would never get built. I don't really follow her logic. We have to start somewhere.
