^ overall, exterior goes to Hong Kong....though the public space around the HKCEC is nowhere near as pedestrian friendly as Vancouver's. I would also imagine that the average Vancouverite would think the Hong Kong design placed in their own city would be much too overpowering.

I've been there twice, and I would guesstimate that their facility is twice in ours in height.

The interior is rather, bleh, but consider that they built their facility in time for the handover. It has aged quite a bit...which begs the question, how well will the new facility age?

And also, I would imagine that given all that wood there is A LOT of sprinklers up there in the ceilings.


I just really hope that the marina/seaplane terminal in front of the convention centre doesn't go ahead, it'll look terrible. I really like it as it is. Convention Centre > Seawall > Water > Immaculate views.
