^^ but it's still way more than what was 'going on' in the 90's.
Although we may not be developing like Toronto or Vancouver (several 200+ ft towers), it doesn't mean we're not making progress.
Montreal, as an example, spent the last several years on infil projects. And, imo, it's a much better City to spend time in than Toronto.
They could have chosen to put this motel or the LTH etc along Upper James, or near Mac, or up by Meadowlands... but for whatever reason people are choosing Downtown again. Infill is where a downtown like ours needs to start. Popping up a skyscraper while there are empty lots EVERYwhere doesn't make sense. The City is working on filling those holes which to me looks like progress. Slow progress, but hey, Welcome to Hamilton!
