Hop on the Rosewood LRT

More than three years after the city and land owners began designing Rosewood, city council has approved the concept plan for Saskatoon's next big neighbourhood. Lot sales begin this summer for the eventual home to 10,700 people on the city's southeast corner.

A key feature of the neighbourhood will be 65 acres of wetlands that residents can walk or cycle through.

"This neighbourhood has really taken a huge step forward for pedestrians and cyclists," said Tim Steuart, the city's manager of development review.

One councillor hopes it's an eventual launch point for Light Rapid Transit (LRT). Coun. Charlie Clark points out that the CP line runs from Rosewood's eastern boundary across the centre of the city. It may be decades away, but with Saskatoon booming, the idea shouldn't be dismissed, Clark said at a recent committee meeting.

"That could really ease the strain on roads."
Wow sounds great! I love when the acronym LRT is mentioned. Hopefully this community will generate interest in other areas of the city allowing for more growth.
