I think the first thing MLS and the Whitecaps should realize is that people don't really care that much about the Whitecaps.

over 20K people went to watch the whitecaps play an away game at BC Place last December.

About a 1000 people travelled to Mexico to watch them play in the concacaf cup

there are games with over 50K in attendance

Arguably, one of the best soccer players of all time currently plays for the whitecaps.
