As a lifelong curler I'd be interested in how those numbers are gathered. Like are they counting someone stepping into a rink once a year as a "registered curler?"

Our club leagues are significantly smaller than they were in the 2000s. Youth leagues don't exist anymore....we do have jamborees that get big numbers but there's no consistent interest through the season.

All the bonspiels I've played in my whole adult life are way smaller than they were 20-25 years ago. Many have died due to lack of numbers.
