“Vibrant”. I guess that’s what got me. I knew I’d like the city, beautiful architecture, city scape all that. And of course I was aware of their civic pride, their attachment to their communities and local culture, but I didn’t expect the city to be so full of life. I imagined it would be a little more dull.

On the previous year I went to Buenos Aires and I was afraid Chicago would feel more dull in comparison, but it was the opposite. To go there on the summer might have helped though.
