Jim Reynolds shared that Pritzker and Preckwinkle were luring the Bears to Michael Reese by offering $400 million for infrastructure improvements. No idea why the Bears rejected the offer, especially since AH won't offer them any funding

Quote:
Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and Gov. JB Pritzker had been speaking with Chicago Bears management and business leaders, including Reynolds and Quintin Primo, CEO of Capri Capital Partners, in an effort to get the team to reconsider the long-vacant Michael Reese site on the city’s Near South Side, Crain’s reported last week.

The talks included discussion of $400 million in public infrastructure spending to prepare the site for a stadium surrounded by a mixed use development, but the Bears balked, instead informing local leaders they were focused on building a stadium in Arlington Heights on their $197 million property at the 326-acre shuttered Arlington International Racecourse.
