As I and others said earlier — PP did great vs JT, defeated him so thoroughly that he ended up with a new opponent. In fact one could argue that PP would’ve benefitted from not being as good as he was at taking down JT.
Erin OToole got the most votes the last election and captured 34% of the popular vote (still can't figure out why the CPC turfed him). Pierre may not grow that # by much and this is after 2+ years of campaigning, fundraising, 3 word slogans, etc. If the guy was likeable and hadn't been on the narrative of Canada is broken and we're stupid - the Conservatives would have won a landslide - even against Carney.
