Like others have speculated, I feel Carney's avoidance of the media may come back to haunt him.
Just seeing how he responded to both the Globe and CBC yesterday shows he might have a hard time in interviews when he gets pressed. Compared to the Freeland campaign, Carney has done very minimal interviews and press. All we got from him so far are little scrums and a single press conference.
I hope the media bring this to light when the campaign officially launches next week. I'm certain Carney's camp is rigorously trying to train Carney on how to respond in these situations going forward, because quite frankly, how he reacted overshadowed whatever photo-ops he did in Europe.
We might also see Poilievre pushing for more than one english debate. Carney, like Trudeau in 2021, will likely steer clear from that.
