Based on what?

You just do not get it. Candice Malcolm (Owner of Juno News/True North), is very close to Poilievre. In fact, she worked for the Wildrose Party in Alberta, during 2011-12. She is one of the biggest CPC cheerleaders in the Canadian media.

If she attacks Carney's children, Poilievre needs to address it and condemn her behaviour, since Canadians know that she is in the Conservative Camp. At this point, it is irrelevant who is to blame, as perception is everything. If Poilievre fails to denounce this kind of gutter politics, the Liberals will just increase their lead.

This is NOT the United States, and this is precisely why the Conservative blew a 27 point lead. We Canadians are more united than ever. The last thing we need is the leader of a party to keep on reminding us of how "broken" our country is, and picking fights with just about everyone who comes in his way.

Oh I know everything about marketing. When slogans are successful, we run with them. When a party has a 27 point lead, and watches it evaporate, stubbornly cling to the same worn-out slogans, they will get clobbered during the election.

That’s kinda on her though, for displaying bias in the past.

Plot twist: they do it and she goes easy on them and promotes Pierre’s fantastic flag day speech because she hates the liberals so much for stabbing Trudeau in the back. lol

Glad to see Pierre not selling any seats to the sneaky media for the campaign. Wouldn't want to provide added access to journalists who could report on things beyond your control.

"In an email Tuesday, national campaign director Jenni Byrne says costs for travel have "risen considerably," as has the capacity for digital and remote access to public events."

The gaslighting continues, because the media who have done this have paid a considerable amount for these seats + food + hotels.

"Byrne says her team wants to stress that the campaign will ensure "strong, fair, and equitable media access."

Oh ok Jenni - whatever you say... equitable - giant eye roll.

MAGA-Byrne is going to sink this thing. PP needs new advice immediately.

She is going to have an 0-4 record in elections, when all is said and done. If this were hockey, she would be sent down to the minors!

Here's the news article with some good background information:

Quote:
There is no recent precedent for a major federal party barring reporters, producers, camera operators and broadcast technicians from travelling with a leader during a national election campaign.

In the most recent federal campaigns in 2019 and 2021, for example, major broadcasters, including CBC/Radio-Canada, CTV and Global, a number of print outlets and the wire service, The Canadian Press, had journalists with past Conservative leaders Andrew Scheer and Erin O'Toole throughout the campaign.

Those journalists documented the leaders' announcements, asked questions at news conferences, made connections with staff members and met voters along the campaign trail as part of an effort to bring election stories to Canadians.

Travelling with the leader ensured journalists had ready access to the party's events, which are sometimes in remote areas of the country, or in "news deserts," where there are few local outlets after years of newsroom closures.
Why does Pierre Poilievre need to hide from the media?

They just don’t get it. It’s admirable I will admit, they would rather crash and burn being the people they truly are rather than change course and try to act like something different.

Trump repeats annexation threats, and weighs in on Canadian election:

“The Conservative that’s running is stupidly no friend of mine, I don’t know him but he’s said negative things so when he says negative things I don’t care, I actually think it’s easier to deal with a Liberal”
https://x.com/katie___simpson/status/1902151958254821478

I uh....don't quite know what to make of this comment. It's very hard to try and get into the mind of an actual idiot.

Is this an endorsement of Carney? Or does Trump think it'd be easier to manipulate and overpower "a liberal"? Or is this meant to be 4D chess to get people to want to vote for Pierre?

If it's the latter then the messaging isn't very clear here.

One of Trump's advisers (most likely Putin or one of his inner circle) told him to discredit PP when referring to Canada, thinking it would help out Poilievre. The reason I think Putin had something to do with it, is the fact that Putin actually said he "wanted Kamala to win" the US Election, knowing it would have a negative effect on her campaign. However unlike Trump, Putin is very intelligent, and well aware of his extreme unpopularity in America, and did reverse psychology, in hopes of helping Trump.

I am of the assumption that Trump is too erratic to learn, or care about candidates in the election in a foreign country. So Putin probably gave him the heads-up, and told him to bad mouth Poilievre.

My guess is someone from Pierre’s team called a Republican buddy and told him that they needed his help, asking him to get Trump to say he doesn’t like Pierre because people think he’s too much like him and it’s hurting in the polls. Pierre was lined up with a reaction within hours the first time.

This is probably Trump vaguely remembering what he was told to write on his social media a couple weeks ago.
